The raw mineral ore was first researched because of its healing attributes.

The story is told of an old cowboy in our local area that used to have a string of bucking stock used in local rodeos. He had a pickup horse that had been cut on his pastern and wouldn't heal. He turned the horse out on the reef with his other stock and when he returned he had black mud caked up to his cannon bones and the wounds had healed.

Locals have used the ore from the mineral mines for years by mixing them with water and caking the mud over the wound. Eventually the fines have been tested and have been found to have bacteria inhibiting properties the encourage safe healing. The mud helps to maintain the proper moisture content to avoid cracking and proud flesh growth.

Its amazing and we swear by it!! It works better than any ointments or sprays you can buy on the shelf at the vets office.

Mixing Essential Equine feed additive powder with clean water creates what we like to call Essential Healing.

 Simply-

 Clean the wound. 

 Mix Essential Equine and Water to  the consistency of cake frosting and apply to the wound.

 Change mud pack every other day and observe for changes.
